Call for Papers
The Marquette Undergraduate Humanities Conference (MUHuCon) invites your submission for our 4th annual conference. Undergraduates will be given the opportunity to present their original academic work with our hope that this conference will promote interdisciplinary conversations across the humanities and give students experience presenting their work in a public, professional setting.
We will consider all humanities-based submissions (English, History, Philosophy, Theology, Foreign Languages and Literatures) on any topic, with special consideration given to those demonstrating the interdisciplinary nature of the humanities.
We will be accepting the following modes of participation:
15-20 minute research paper (about 8-10 pages double-spaced) or multimodal presentations
15-20 minute creative work presentations (such as poetry, fiction, film), including a scholarly explanation of an aspect of the work
To be considered for participation, please submit your completed works, or, for projects that are in development, an abstract of 300 words or fewer, by Wednesday, March 28, 2018. If you choose to submit an abstract, you should should include a title and an explanation of your research question or thesis. All submissions, both completed works and abstracts for in-progress projects, should include 3-5 key terms (e.g., political reform, gender and sexuality, religion) that we might use to link your project with others. Please email your works and abstracts to [email protected].
Applicants will be notified of the status of their submissions by April 3, 2018.
More information is available at https://www.facebook.com/MUHuCon2018.
Any questions regarding your submission or the conference as a whole can be directed to [email protected].
